The process starts with China Outsourcing gaining an understanding of your sourcing motivation and requirements. This will include: a review of your reasons for switching supplier or the basis of your make/buy decision, understanding your NPI plans, and development of your IP protection strategy.
The next step is to obtain drawings against which our suppliers can quote. We will translate the drawing into Chinese and, where necessary, agree alternative Chinese specifications with you. Our engineers will work with your engineers to make sure that your exact specifications and required processes are understood and critical manufacturing requirements are highlighted right from the start. We aim for right first time.
Once we have the right technical requirements, we will approach our supplier base for prices.
We do everything in our power to ensure your outsourced manufacturing and parts are delivered to a high standard and within your deadline and budget. Quotations and Suppliers
Saving purchasing costs are far easier to calculate than to obtain. China Outsourcing uses a competitive approach to selecting suppliers and will receive a number of quotes from our portfolio of trusted suppliers. We also have the advantage of negotiating Chinese on Chinese so avoiding the trap of higher prices for western customers. We maintain a supplier performance and continuous improvement programme to check that our suppliers are performing to the highest standard and undertake regular quality audits.
We also have capability overlaps in our supply base that allows us the option of switching between suppliers if needs be. Our approach reduces the normal time to search for suppliers whilst maintaining a competitive environment. Hence the time for you to switch suppliers or bring new products to market is significantly reduced. We will help you define and source tooling and make sure that it is maintained and controlled as your asset.
Samples
Once we are happy with supplier selection and tooling is in place we will purchase samples of your cast, machined or forged parts for your review. At this stage our quality assurance team will work closely with the supplier and your engineering and technical departments. We are very responsive with commercial and engineering teams based both in the West and China. Our communication is time zone and neutral and in English.
If there is a problem, and problems happen, we react positively to solve them and to make sure they have minimum impact on your business. We continually review and flag up potential risks. If qualifications tests are required we are happy to discuss undertaking these in China saving time and risk.
First Batch Production
Once you are happy with the samples, we will enter first batch production. We are happy to take a split in your original order requirements so that you can reduce perceived risk and gain confidence before moving completely from your existing supplier.
Our prices are stable and we do not see big fluctuation in prices during the initial and ongoing procurement process.
If your component is new, we will manage the transition from NPI or modification through First Article Inspection (FAI) to ramped up repeat purchasing.
Our sales order processing team will work with your buyers to establish routine shipment of parts that match your demand whilst minimising inventory costs. They will provide regular order status reports and regularly communicate. We also manage the logistics and shipping processes to ensure that your goods arrive on time.
Even at the reorder stage we will constantly look for better pricing, delivery and quality both from our existing supplier base and new suppliers. We proactively look to improve. Throughout the whole process we maintain the strictest confidentiality and ensure that there is no intellectual property leakage.
